Meet Lagom & West
Founded in 2018, Lagom & West is a Vancouver-based multidisciplinary interior design firm specializing in West Coast design balanced with Scandinavian influence. “Lagom” is the Swedish word for “just the right amount” – a sentiment that captures our focus on achieving equal parts quality, practicality, creativity and fun.
Lagom & West specializes in interior architecture, which determines functionality, flow, material selection, and other integral elements of a design project. Our team’s keen attention to detail and impeccable instinct for beautiful, functional design have amplified our success in creating spaces that perfectly match and exceed each client’s unique vision. Our designs are at once aesthetic and comfortable, striking an idyllic balance between form and function – a subtlety that distinguishes Lagom & West as a firm that takes pride in “getting it just right” with every client.
JENNA AKEROYD
Design Principal
Jenna Akeroyd has a keen eye for detail – a skill that has helped her build a 15-year career in interior design. After honing her talent with a top North American restaurant brand, and earning several awards along the way, Jenna opened Lagom & West, a multidisciplinary interior design firm that prioritizes West Coast materials while incorporating a Scandinavian approach to design.
After several years working as a designer on residential, commercial and corporate projects for False Creek Design Group, Jenna accepted a role with Joey Restaurant Group in 2012, managing design for the brand’s new builds. At the same time, she oversaw the Capital Expenditure design program for all of Joey’s existing restaurants, which included full renovations for several restaurant concepts across North America.
Now, as principal designer and founder of Lagom & West, Jenna channels her attention to detail and impeccable eye for beautiful, functional design to creating spaces that perfectly match – and often exceed – the vision of her clients. Her designs – which are primarily created for residential, multi-family, hospitality and retail buildings – achieve a balance between form and function, allowing space while filling volume. A tribute to her Scandinavian roots, Jenna chose the name “Lagom”, which means “just the right amount” in Swedish, to capture the balance of practicality, creativity, fun and quality that hallmarks each of her designs.
